"Ich kann nur Positives an dieser Unterkunft feststellen. Mit meiner Familie feierten wir Geburtstag. Alles wunderbar arrangiert, die Kuchen und Getränke hervorragend. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Ich habe im Haus Liebe übernachtet: Was Besseres kann man sich nicht wünschen. Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel immer wieder gern. Die Aussicht ist phänomenal."

"Het hotel oogt misschien wat gedateerd, maar vriendelijk, aardig personeel. Goede service. Uitstekend diner van een kleine kaart. Schone, ruime kamers met aparte zitgelegenheid op iedere verdieping met koffie en thee en lees- en spelmateriaal. Lekker terras in de zon 's middags. Verse bakker op 300mtr en nog eens een paar honderd mtr verder een supermarkt. Top locatie als stop voor der Rennsteig wandelroute van Hörschel naar Blankenstein."

"We only had one night here, would have liked to stay more. The hotel has its own restaurant for lunch and dinner in a separate building a minutes walk from rhe accommodation. Really good local food. Our room was quite a bit larger than expected and spotless. No hesitation in recommending this as a very good place to stay."

"Eigentlich bin ich immer mehr als zufrieden im Hotel Schieferhof. Wann immer ich in der Nähe bin, übernachte ich hier. Aber dieses Mal war an Nachtruhe nicht zu denken. Die Zimmer zur Straße raus sind einfach zu laut. Die Fenster schlucken zwar den Schall, aber dann ist es zu stickig im Zimmer (wenn man - wie ich - Frischluftfanatiker ist. Auch das Kopfkissen geht besser. Übernachten ohne zu schlafen, ist natürlich blöd. Aber sonst schwöre ich weiter auf das Haus: seine geschmackvolle...

"Lovely quiet, rural area. Fabulous forestry, rocky outcrops, scenery so green. Great for walking, cycling, exploring this part of northern Bavaria. Even though rural roads, superb, easy from A to B. Staff lovely in the hotel. Spoke good English for restricted German speakers. Comfort Room spacious and clean. Little terrace with outside seating. Great views. No sound issues from rooms next door or above (we were ground floor). Great shower! But no tea/coffee facilities in room. The usual wonderful buffet breakfast. Adequate evening meal but then chose to eat out in the evening for the other two nights; wanted to experience more. Didn’t use Spa or swimming pool; too much to do and see elsewhere in the vicinity to include in our three night stay. "
